Part 1:
Independent Flexible E-Learning

The first step of your training is to complete both the Occupational Ability and Occupational Personality E-learning courses. The link to access these can be found in the invitation email.

Occupational Ability

(using Saville Assessment Swift Assessments)

This flexible E-learning course is made up of nine modules. You will need to set aside 4 – 6 hours to complete all modules before you attend the practical part of the course.

We recommend breaking this into several sittings so that you can take breaks between the content.

Your reference workbook covers all the content from the Occupational Ability E-Learning modules. Its purpose is to save you having to write lots of notes and can be used to support you in the Knowledge Checks and Assessments throughout.

Please note:

You will also need to complete practice aptitude assessments ahead of the practical part of the course. These are purely for practice and support your understanding of this type of tool; no scores or results are captured or shared.

You can access these assessments via the Oasys link in your invitation email.

Occupational Personality

(using Saville Assessment Wave Assessments)

This flexible E-learning course is made up of eight modules. You will need to set aside 4 – 6 hours to complete all modules before you attend the practical part of the course.

We recommend breaking this into several sittings so that you can take breaks between the content.

Your reference workbook covers all the content from the Occupational Personality E-Learning modules. Its purpose is to save you having to write lots of notes and can be used to support you in the Knowledge Checks and Assessments throughout.

Please note:

You will also need to complete two behavioral assessments before joining the practical part of the course: Wave Professional Styles and Wave Focus Styles. Your profile will be shared within your feedback practical group and used to practice giving feedback on the practical part of the course.

You can access these assessments via the Oasys link in your invitation email.

Your Designated Consultant

Between the E-Learning and the practical part of the course, you have the option of checking in with your designated consultant whose email address is included in the invitation email you have received. You can use this call to clarify your understanding of the E-Learning content and ask any questions you might have about the practical part of the course.

You can also contact your designated consultant as you go through the E-Learning to check your understanding.

Part 2:
Practical sessions hosted on Microsoft Teams

Two days of applied learning for Swift and Wave hosted on Microsoft Teams from 9.00am to 5.30pm UK time (one day for Occupational Ability and one day for Occupational Personality):

Day 1

Occupational Ability

(using Saville Assessment Swift Assessments)

The practical part of the ability course follows a case study to hire either a Customer Support Assistant or a Senior Web Developer.

Firstly, we will conduct a job analysis to consider what is important to the role for which we are hiring. Then we will consider how to effectively measures those important skills and behaviors.

We will also practice choosing appropriate norms (benchmark groups) and learn about what we need to do to run a testing session effectively. We will then have two opportunities to practice delivering feedback; firstly to a candidate and then to a hiring manager.

We also revisit Reliability and Validity to consider how they practically apply to selection processes and how we can explain these principles in clear, non-technical terms to manage push-back from hiring manages.

Day 2

Occupational Personality

(using Saville Assessment Wave Assessments)

The practical Wave content is very much focused on delivering effective feedback. We concisely revisit some of the technical parts of Wave, including the three Deep Dives before being guided through a demonstration feedback.

We will provide time to prepare and then deliver Wave Professional Styles feedback on another delegate’s profile. We will discuss what went well, what could be improved, and how to do this going forward.

Following a break, we will have some more time to prepare and then deliver feedback to a different delegate based on their Wave Focus Styles profile. Again, we will discuss what has been done well and where to improve going forward.

We will run a selection case study to consider how we would use Wave in a hiring scenario.

We will also take some time to introduce some other tools and reports that you will have access to as a qualified Wave practitioner.
